GOL airlines plans Dominican Republic routes
Santo Domingo.- Brazilian airline Gol has expressed an interest in starting operations in the Dominican Republic. A delegation from the company visited the country to meet with Dominican Civil Aviation Institute (IDAC) director Alejandro Herrera.
Gol airline executives Mauricio Emboada Moreira, Carlos Sergio de Santanna Cesar, Claudia Karpat and Christiane Atallah Marques, accompanied by Dominicans Vitelio y Santiago Mejía Ortiz from the Mejía Armenteros & Abreu law firm, held a meeting with Herrera in his office at the Civil Aviation Institute.
Herrera was accompanied by his deputy director Santiago Rosa Martínez, as well as the directors of Flight Regulations, Legal Administrative and Legal Technical departments Vásquez Reyes, José Valdez Martínez and Franklin Reyes Rossó, respectively, who provided explanations about the opertations.
The Gol representatives said that their initial plan was to expand to destinations in North and South America and the Caribbean with a special emphasis on Boston, Montreal, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo and Manaus, to connect with Las Américas International Airport (AILA) as a hub.
